Joyce is a mother of 3 children and began her career as a fitness and health coach after she had successfully raised them to adulthood. She began her fitness journey as a result of living in the cold north for a few years and spending many hours at an indoor sports club where she earned the title of "gym rat." It was there she fell in love with training, lifting weights, kickboxing and yoga to name a few. It became clear the gym environment was for her. She began pursuing her certifications in personal training, health coaching, nutrition and yoga. She began personal training in a private studio and has continued to enjoy the studio atmosphere and being an independent instructor. After moving to Orlando, she taught yoga at the Crosby Wellness Center in Winter Park for 5 years and trained once again at a private studio. In 2007 she opened her own studio and boxing center and continued to expand her expertise in the fitness arena. In 2020 she sold her studio and moved to The Healthy Human studio (now called Mills 50 Fitness).
Joyce's areas of expertise include functional training, TRX, kettlebell, speed and agility training, yoga and flexibility coaching. She chose personal training as a career path to help others stay active, healthy and fit. She believes personal training creates a bond between herself and her clients that goes beyond the exercise routines, leading to success based on each client's needs.
